Weekly Update - Saturday, January 12, 2013

Hi there!

I hope you're settling into 2013 just fine. I find it takes people a little time to get going at the beginning of the year. We start out with grand resolutions for the new year, but it seems to take a few weeks for things to actually get rolling on any projects. Sometimes I think that our calendar, our new year, should start with the Spring Solstice. After all, it's Spring when new life begins.

Work continues, when time permits (day jobs, you know), on the remix of Roses For Sharon. We'll keep you posted on any new developments.

How about that David Bowie new album news last week? I haven't been this excited by a new music story in ages. Needless to say, I've been on a Bowie kick all week. It's mostly been Berlin-trilogy stuff, which I know but not super well. Low continues to amaze. To celebrate David Bowie, our new Saturday's Radio Survey asks you to pick a favorie Bowie album. We'll likely leave this survey up for a couple of weeks.

Turnout was pretty low for the last survey, which asked if you'd made any New Year's Resolutions. Everyone who responded indicated that they did indeed make resolutions for the new year. It's nice to see that people want to improve their lives.

The following music people will be celebrating birthdays this coming week:

Sunday, January 13: Paul Kelly and Suggs from Madness.

Monday, January 14: Alan Toussaint, LL Cool J, Dave Grohl, and T-Bone Burnett.

Wednesday, January 16: Sade and Jill Sobule.

Thursday, January 17: Mick Taylor, Steve Earle, Susanna Hoffs. January 17 is also Muhammad Ali's birthday!

Friday, January 18: R. Stevie Moore and Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins.

Saturday, January 19: Dolly Parton and Phil Everly.

Happy Birthday to all!

"I don't know where I'm going from here. But I promise it won't be boring." - David Bowie
